40 Day Journey - Day 2
March 13
Fast Impatience
Proverbs 16:32
It is better to be patient than powerful; it is better to have self-control than conquer a city.
We have all heard about the race between the tortoise and the hare – one, (the hare), is always in a hurry up mode to win the race but soon tires out. The other, (the tortoise), just keeps a steady, but determined pace, and eventually wins the race. In Proverbs 16:32 we see a similar truth, and that is to live by patience and self-control.
Patience is the enduring principle of faith - it stays steady through the storms and struggles of life, as it looks to the finish line, even when that line cannot been seen. Self-control is the determination for perfection - it is the trait that keeps us focused on the prize with an unwillingness to get off course.
While the hare was wearing himself out jumping here and there the tortoise stayed on course and won the race. So no matter how hard your race, or how far your finish line may yet be, stay the course - be determined with your focus and pace and you will wear a victor's crown.
Galatians 6:7-9
7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Today fast from any thought that tries to stir impatience in your life

We read during breakfast to help us start the day right
By doing what is right and waiting for God's perfect timing we will be blessed and God will be there for us.
Good reminder to patiently endure what comes my way.
Praise the Lord, for the straight path that He gave us. If we only stay on it, we do know where the finish line is Heaven
