Fast Defeatism
2 Samuel 22:2,3
(David's song of praise)... "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior - from violent people you save me
V1 David sang this song when The Lord delivered him from his enemies and Saul. He is my stronghold - a stronghold is not just a fortified place of safety but also a place that had the means to battle an enemy when under attack. Our God is such a place - he protects, not just by hiding us out, but also by coming against our enemy. I have noticed my ability to overcome that, which is trying to get the best of me, is greater when I am anointed by the presence of my God. Fear, anxiety, anger, and those strong temptations of doing wrong, are all overcome when I enter into a time with my Heavenly Father. He is my refuge and savior - He is my shelter in the storm and my victor over that which is attacking me.
My God “saves me from violent people,” He helps me to overcome the fears and hurts brought on by others. Whether we have been verbally attacked or even physically attacked we find an encouragement that heals and the power to overcome through our Lord. Those thoughts that the enemy of our soul puts in our head that bring fear, discouragement, and even a cloud of depression over our soul, will give way to peace and joy when we go to our refuge. This song of David does not limit how much he could go to God, and it does not share how long it took for the victory, but it announces that deliverance, salvation and victory, will come as we continue to take refuge in our Lord.
David's victory over Saul was a ten year process - but he continued to find shelter and refuge with God and as he pressed through it all he eventually wore a victor's crown. So press on into God's presence and pass through the circumstances that are fighting against you. In Jesus name you will wear a victor's crown. Be God-strong!
1 John 5:3-5
3In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
Defeatism: demonstrating expectation or acceptance of failure.
Today fast defeatism by not allowing it to take root in your thoughts instead expect victory as you go to the stronghold , your refuge, The God your rock
