40 Day Journey - Day 5

February 25
Fast Being A Bystander

Psalm 68:4
Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him—his name is the LORD.

"Sing in praise" comes from the Hebrew word Zamar which means make music
"Extol" comes from the Hebrew word Salal meaning to elevate, lift up, exalt
rejoice comes from the Hebrew word for showing joy and coming from a root word meaning to jump for joy.
When noted in the psalms praise was recommended as a way to show forth honor to the true God and nothing was considered to be extravagant when offered to the God of all glory, might, wisdom and knowledge.

Bystander definition: a person present but not involved.

Fast being a bystander

We must never become complacent in our worship to the point we become a bystander only watching others worship as if it is a form of entertainment. Involve yourself in worship today whether it is the lifting of hands or a hand, clapping during a song or singing out while you tap your foot become involved in praise for the one we are praising  “His name is the LORD.”
