40 Day Journey - Day 39

March 30
Fast Earthly Mentality

Luke 12:32-34
"Don't be afraid, little flock, for your father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moths destroys. For where your treasure is there your heart will be also.

There is much that tries to gain our focus in this life but in these verses we are told that our Heavenly Father is pleased to give us the kingdom - we are rich sheep! With this in mind our focus must not be upon worldly wealth but heavenly treasures.
Heavenly treasures come through a denial of self and a heart for blessing others, especially those in need. From the giving of our time, finances, talents and abilities in serving God, we are blessed with heavenly riches that will never fade away.
We have been given the kingdom of our Lord. Let us not be satisfied with only living in the kingdom but also having the kingdom living in us.
Kingdom living is not about who we will be but it is about who we are right now. Our treasure is in heaven so live as a child of God and enjoy your time on earth as you bless others knowing you have greater days yet ahead.

Matthew 5:13-16
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.16In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Fast the earthly mentality today by focusing on Kingdom living, fill your mind and heart with that which is of heaven and live it out loud.
