Colossians 1:13,14
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.  Since the time we were old enough to know better we were imprisoned as slaves in the dominion of darkness, trapped by  our own doings, cursed to forever live and die and be eternally separated from our loving Father. But we were rescued from this dominion of darkness, redeemed from the chains of our own sins and set free from Satan's grasp through the sacrifice of the only Son of God which he loves, Jesus Christ.

As believers in this gospel we have been set free from the dominion of darkness and brought into the kingdom of our Lord and Savior. Our lives are much like the fairy tale of Cinderella, we have been taken from a terribly wicked environment and placed in the family of a king- better yet the King of Kings. The problem with such a change of environment is our way of thinking- the price of our freedom has been paid but we now need to take on a better way of living and thinking.
Many struggle with anything new because it creates a need for change. Some do not adapt to change because they have grown accustomed to the old way of living and find comfort with the ease of doing what they have always done. Much like the Israelites who could not get their minds off of the variety of food they missed in Egypt as they journeyed to the promised- land, we too can be tempted to focus on the dominion of darkness instead of the Kingdom of promise.
If we are to truly enjoy kingdom living and the favor of our Heavenly Father we must change our thinking. Focus on your new life, fill up on God's word, pray in the Spirit daily, dwell on who you are and the promises given you through Christ. Live above the temptations of the old life and be transformed into the child of God you have been called to be. You have been brought into the kingdom of the Son (Jesus) who God loves, so live like it - enjoy your life as you walk in God's favor as the redeemed of The Lord. Walk, and think, like the child of God you have been called to be.

Colossians 3:1-3
1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
