Fast A Meal
Matthew 3:11
I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
These words of John the baptizer should be encouraging to all of us. While we celebrate a savior we also must celebrate a baptizer "he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." To be baptized is to be fully wet, or immersed. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a divine anointing that affects the physical senses as it stirs the heart and produces a godly character from the inside out. This presence is not only intended for joy but it also is meant to burn away that which is not pleasing to our Heavenly Father.
From fear to disobedience, it all melts away under the heat of the presence of The Holy Spirit. Under His influence we laugh, cry, are empowered, receive understanding and knowledge, our praise is enhanced and our prayers mightily influenced. This anointing from heaven brings victory, healing, discernment, conviction, peace and joy. Praise God for sending us a savior, but don't fail to seek and live under the anointing of fire sent from Heaven through our Lord Jesus Christ.
As the old chorus says, "Give me oil in my lamp keep me burning..." May we each live under the Influence of the Holy Ghost and fire.
Luke 11:9-13
9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.10For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?12Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?13If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Fast a meal or meals today as you take time seeking an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon your life.
